§1 What are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
- Cookies are small text files that are stored on your end device (PC, smartphone, tablet) when you visit a website.
- They make it possible to store information about your visit – for example, language settings or session data.
- In addition to classic cookies, we and some of our third-party providers also use similar technologies:
- Scripts: Program code that enables functions and interactivity on the website.
- Local Storage: Local data storage in the browser, similar to cookies, but without an expiration date.
- Web Beacons / Pixel Tags: Tiny, invisible image elements used to analyze user behavior.
- For the sake of simplicity, all these technologies are summarized in this policy under the term “Cookies.”
